English Premier League Best Bets: Matchweek 16 (Dec. 13, 2025 - Dec. 15, 2025):

Welcome to English Premier League Best Bets, a Bettor in Green Article Series where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matchweek.

For an overview of what to expect in this Series, check out my 2025/26 EPL Season Preview and Futures article here.

Recap:

The opening match of Matchweek 15 saw Aston Villa snatch all 3 points over Arsenal with the last kick of the game in dramatic fashion.

With that win, they jump into 3rd, while Manchester City are now only 2 points away from Arsenal at the top of the table.

And with Crystal Palace getting a win at Burnley and Chelsea losing at Leeds, Palace leapfrog Chelsea into 4th.

We hit 2-1 for Best Bets, with Crystal Palace and Manchester United, losing with  Brighton.

Across the Globe we continue to be off the mark, going 2-3.

Upcoming Matches:

This week, we have a clash between Arsenal, who sit top of the table, and Wolves, who are at rock bottom.

We also have the Tyne-Wear Derby this weekend, a spicy matchup between Sunderland and Newcastle, a battle we haven’t seen in the Premier League since 2016.

Let’s get to the bets:

Best Bets:

Pick #1: Fulham Moneyline -110 (Dec. 13, 2025; 12:30 p.m. EST):

This week, I’m looking at 3 teams to get a result away from home. The first is Fulham, playing away at Burnley.

Each of these teams has had a rough patch of form as of late, with Fulham losing their last 2 matches, making that 3 losses in 5 matches.

Burnley are on a worse run, having lost their last 6 straight.

Fulham will be looking to have form overcome history this week, as Burnley are unbeaten in the last 29 home matches against Fulham, stretching back to the early 1950s.

However, Burnley will be without Kyle Walker in defense this week due to a suspension, for receiving too many yellow cards, and may be forced to either change formation or put in Oliver Sonne, who has primarily seen action on the Carabao Cup this season.

Burnley are 19th for goals conceded, with only Wolves conceding more this season.

Fulham will be looking to Harry Wilson when attacking, who has 2 goals and an assist in his last 3 matches, while also balling out for Wales in their World Cup Qualifier rout of North Macedonia, scoring 3 and getting an assist in their 7-1 win.

Pick #2: Tottenham Hotspur to Win Either Half -105 (Dec. 14, 2025; 9:00 a.m. EST):

For my next bet, looking to the match between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.

Each of these clubs played in the middle of the week, with Spurs getting a home win against Slavia Prague in the Champions League and Forest getting an away win against FC Utrecht (Netherlands) in the Europa League.

Part of this bet is that Spurs have had an extra 2 days of rest, playing Tuesday while Forest played Thursday. Additionally, Spurs played at home, whereas Forest had to travel, capping a 3-match away run.

Another reason to back this bet is Spurs’ away form. Spurs are 4-2-1 on the road, a dramatic contrast to their dismal home form. While they’re still missing some key attacking players, this group has begun to find their form, with Xavi Simons finally seeming more comfortable in the EPL.

While Sean Dyche has brought some stability to Forest, their home form still leaves much to be desired. They’ve done okay in the Europa League but are 1-1-1 in the EPL at home since his arrival. They did, however, get to rotate some players in their Europa League clash.

With Spurs coming off 2 wins (EPL and UCL), they’ll look to keep the momentum up at Forest and get into the top half of the table.

Pick #3: Manchester City Moneyline -125 (Dec. 14, 2025; 9:00 a.m. EST):

For our final Best Bet, I’m looking at another match between a Champions League club and a lower-tier European League club, as Man City take on Crystal Palace on the road.

Like Spurs, City played in the UCL this week on Wednesday, getting a 1-2 win away against Real Madrid.

Crystal Palace played on Thursday in the UEFA Conference League. While both clubs got wins on the road in Europe, Manchester City got an extra day to travel and rest, while also getting a higher-profile win against Real Madrid.

Crystal Palace had the better opportunity to rotate players, which they did in the Conference League, though City got the extra rest and have a deeper squad than Palace.

While I’ve been quite high on Palace this year and last year, I’m also backing City for a title fight, predicting them to finish at least top 2 this year in my futures article to start the season.

With the likes of Erling Haaland, the goal-scoring machine, and Phil Foden finding his best form in quite some time, pushing to be a lock for the England squad at the World Cup, City will bring the firepower against the 2nd strongest defense in the EPL this season.

City will look for revenge of last year’s FA Cup Final loss to Palace and, if they can manage to win while scoring 3+ goals, City’s manager Pep Guardiola will be just the 3rd manager in EPL history to win 150 matches while scoring 3+ goals.

Across the Globe:

  • LASK Linz Moneyline +100 (Austria; Austrian Bundesliga)

  • Stade Rennes Moneyline -125 (France; Ligue 1)

  • Juventus to Win Either Half -120 (Italy; Serie A)

  • Sevilla Moneyline -115 (Spain; La Liga)

  • Real Madrid Moneyline -150 (Spain; La Liga)

Season Record:

Best Bets: 23-22

Across the Globe: 30-46
