Welcome to English Premier League Best Bets, a Bettor in Green Article Series where we break down the latest action in the English Premier League (EPL) and my favorite bets for the upcoming matchweek.
For an overview of what to expect in this Series, check out my 2025/26 EPL Season Preview and Futures article here.
Recap:
The midweek matches were not short on drama or goals this week!
On Tuesday, Erling Haaland got his 100th Premier League goal, making him the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League era, reaching that mark after only 111 matches.
Speaking of Haaland and Manchester City, they led 1-5 against Fulham, before Fulham came back to 4-5 and almost got a late equalizer.
On Wednesday, Aston Villa continued their fine form with a come-from-behind win against Brighton, winning 3-4 on the road and jumping up to 3rd in the table.
Thursday’s match saw West Ham salvage a point against Manchester United late in the match, ending in a 1-1 draw.

We hit 2-1 for Best Bets, winning on BTTS in the Newcastle/Spurs match and Nottingham Forest moneyline, losing with Chelsea moneyline.
Across the Globe we finally got back to a winning record, hitting 3-2.
Upcoming Matches:
Matches are coming thick and fast, with a full slate of matches this weekend.
The weekend starts with Aston Villa hosting Arsenal in the early kickoff.
Later on Saturday, Spurs host Brentford in Thomas Frank’s first match against his old club. This will be a critical match for Spurs, whose home form has been awful this season.
The marquee match on Sunday is a London Derby between Fulham and Crystal Palace, while the weekend ends on Monday with Wolves hosting Manchester United.

Let’s get to the bets:
Best Bets:
Pick #1: 2-Leg SGP: Brighton Moneyline and Over 1.5 Total Goals -125 (Dec. 7, 2025; 9:00 a.m. EST):
For my first Best Bet I’m taking Brighton Moneyline against West Ham, parlayed with over 1.5 total goals.
I’ve been high on Brighton this season, backing them to finish top half as one of my futures. They currently sit 7th, though the EPL table is incredibly tight, with only 5 points separating 4th-14th.
Brighton are coming off a 3-4 loss to Aston Villa, blowing a 2-goal lead in the loss. Aston Villa are a tougher opponent than West Ham and I expect Brighton to use it as motivation to not let a lead slip away against West Ham.
This game is well-primed for Brighton to win 2-0 or 2-1, as Brighton will look to control possession and stretch West Ham, but also will employ a high-press when they lose possession, potentially allowing them to be exposed on the counter attach, which is West Ham’s specialty.
However, Brighton have done well in 2nd halves, scoring more goals than anyone else in the EPL, with 17 in 2nd halves.
Brighton have won 5 of their last 10 matches, all of which had over 1.5 goals.
Another reason I like this bet is because West Ham had a shorter week, playing Thursday, and had to travel from Manchester in the north, before traveling to the south coast to face Brighton.
While I think they may go up in the first half and then manage the game to see out a win, I’ll also dabble on Brighton to Win the 2nd Half -120, given their impressive 2nd half form.
Pick #2: Crystal Palace to Win Either Half -105 (Dec. 7, 2025; 11:30 a.m. EST):
For my next bet, I’m backing Crystal Palace to win either half on the road against Fulham.
Crystal Palace picked up right where they left off after last season, showing impressive form under Oliver Glasner. I’ve been fond of Palace since he took over in the second half of the 2023/24 season and he currently has them in 5th.
However, part of their success is their ability to get wins and draws, having the most draws in the League with 5. For this reason, I’m not backing them on the moneyline, just on either half.
Palace have won either half in 12 of their last 15 matches in all competitions, with only one of these coming on the road, their match away to Arsenal.
Fulham have been a bit patchy this season. They have 3 wins and 2 losses in their last 5 but were winless in the 5 before that, including a 1-1 draw with 3rd-tier Wycombe in the Carabao Cup, where Fulham advanced after a penalty shootout.
Fulham are coming off a crazy match against Man City where they almost came back from being down 1-5, ending just shy of a draw with a 4-5 result. They fought hard in that match and may keep that fight going into this match, but I think instead they’ll have a bit of a slump and struggle to reach the same heights.
Pick #3: Manchester United Moneyline -130 (Dec. 8, 2025; 3:00 p.m. EST):
For our final Best Bet, I’m going with Manchester United, while continuing to fade Wolves.
If you’ve been following this series, you know Wolves have been the worst team in the League this season and that we have been fading them consistently.
United looked set to take all 3 points with a win against West Ham, only to give up a goal in the final 10 minutes, settling for a 1-1 draw.
They now play Wolves on the road and will look to get back to winning form against the team at the bottom of the League. They have the quality, though consistency and staying solid as a team for 90 minutes have been part of their downfall this season.
Wolves have lost their last 8 in all competitions and are 0-2-12 in the EPL. Their only two wins this season came in the Carabao cup.
Until Wolves start to get some positive play going, I’ll continue looking to fade them, especially against a United team that will look to rectify their mistake from the midweek and get an outright win.
Across the Globe:
Red Bull Salzburg Moneyline -115 (Austria; Austrian Bundesliga)
Atlético Madrid Moneyline +130 (Spain; La Liga)
Botafogo Moneyline -110 (Brazil; Serie A)
Boca Juniors Moneyline -115 (Argentina; Liga Profesional Clausura - Semi-Final)
Brøndby IF Moneyline -125 (Denmark; Superligaen)
